Clearly organized right up to the exam

Everyone knows the report booklet. It must be submitted for the exam. This allows the examiner to see whether the trainee has attended all mandatory events and acquired all qualifications in the company. The trainer can use the report booklet to see what progress the apprentice is making. It serves both as a means of supervision and self-assessment. Recently, it has also been permitted to keep it electronically. An existing training contract does not need to be amended for this. In all new contracts from October 1, 2017, the exact form of the training record must be added, i.e. either written or electronic.

The new report booklet is much clearer than its predecessors. The number of required additional work reports is the same for all trainees, regardless of whether they are parquet or flooring installers. Every eight weeks there is a page for the additional work reports, which must be completed. The annual and project work sections are omitted. In addition, there is a page for comments from the trainer to the examination board and vice versa. The report booklet should be checked and signed by the trainer at least once a month, preferably on an agreed date. The date can be specified in a supplementary agreement to the training contract.
